Make Labor Day Yummy Without the Worry

Labor Day is looming. Observed the first Monday in September in the U.S., the annual holiday signals the symbolic end of summer: back to school for kids and a relieved sigh for parents. In the world of retail, Labor Day means business which is why supermarkets and grocery stores of every stripe will be holding tastings and product demos to attract customers to their Labor Day sales.
Picnics, barbecues, family gatherings, college departure celebrations: these are just some of the reasons shoppers stock up on food and other party staples prior to Labor Day. But while they're sampling your watermelon, sweet and sour dumplings, veggie dip, and juices, the odds are also good they'll be dropping some of this food and drink onto the floor, and perhaps tracking it through the aisles. Uh-oh. Did you know slip and fall accidents in supermarkets are the number one cause of both employee and shopper injuries? Not a pretty picture. Which is why it pays to have a spill response plan in place to anticipate and respond to spill emergencies.
