Chemical blasting agent shut down Kentucky road on Monday

A tanker truck crashed on KY 3415 in Floyd County, Kentucky, on Monday, February 6, 2012, reports wowktv.com.

The truck was carrying a powder substance, which was later identified as premixed fuel and an Ammonium Nitrate blasting agent.

The surrounding community of Robinson Creek was evacuated immediately, as crews were called to contain the leak and maintain order.

No injuries were reported from the collision or the spill, but both Northbound and Southbound directions of KY 3415 were closed, according to the news source.

Ammonium Nitrate is a toxic chemical solution that poses potential safety threats to people who come in contact with the properties. Officials in Floyd County had to act quick to contain the spill before anyone was injured. XSORB Acid Neutralizing Absorbent formulas have the potential to help cleanup crews neutralize such chemical solutions before they cause greater concerns.

The absorbent formula safely and effectively neutralizes and contains most acids on contact. Users apply the formula onto a chemical spill and wait for the two properties to solidify. XSORB Acid Neutralizing Absorbent turns liquids into solid matter, which can be swept up and disposed of with relative ease.
