Grocery Store Demos: Whole Lotta Spillin’ Goin’ On

Remember the 1950s? Even if you weren’t there personally, the decade’s been immortalized in TV sitcoms and song. Rock ‘n’ roll was just being born, and the music was typically sweet and innocent.

Like the one Jerry Lee Lewis sang about spill clean up: “Whole Lotta Spillin’ Goin’ On.” OK, the actually title used the word shakin’ (as in dancing) going on. But if Lewis had visited grocery stores during food and drink demos, we think he might have changed the lyrics.

Have you ever watched what happens when the event specialist is pouring juice into sample cups? And an eager tyke stretches up and oops! that was just a little out of her reach. Or those flavored dinner sausages that come in packages and are sizzling on the portable mini grill, and all that lovely fat is a bit effusive when the grill is opened? Mm-hm.

Food demonstration can be a messy job, but somebody’s got to do it. And sinceslip and fall accidents in supermarkets are the number one cause of both employee and guest injuries, it’s incumbent on a store to prove it exercises reasonable care to keep the floors clean.

Fortunately, it’s easy to be prepared, with anXSORB Spill Station. Simple and safe to use, our Spill Station is custom-made to hold a 6-quart bottle ofXSORB granular Spill Clean-Up Absorbent, and includes a dustpan, brush set, and disposal bags. The floor will be clean, dry, and residue-free in minutes, with no worries about slip and fall injuries. Not to mention a child trying to retrieve and eat what fell on the floor.

It may not be the 1950s any longer, but then again, we didn’t have today’s technology back then. No iPods, just easily scratched vinyl records. XSORB didn’t exist. And rock ‘n’ roll was in its infancy. So enjoy your third millennium bells and whistles. Safely.
