- Mass Transit
- Renewable Energy
- Recycling
- Water Quality
- Air Quality
- Co2 Emissions
The evaluators then assigned an overall ranking based on these figures.
Sadly, less than one-third of the states fourteen out of 50 earned the “Best” green rating. Besides California, the greenest states include Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, South Dakota, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Alabama, New York, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
