Oil spill in Texas leaves no lasting damages

Holly Energy Partners (HEP) made an announcement on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, that it had recently begun a cleanup process to absorb oil that had spilled from a six-inch pipeline in the Permian Basin, Texas, reports Bloomberg News.

The broken line is part of a network that gathers oil for delivery to refineries in Texas and New Mexico, according to the source.

Approximately 1,100 barrels of oil were recovered from the spill and more was absorbed in the soil where the leak occurred. Fortunately, no lasting effects have been seen on the grounds.

Oil spills have the potential to harm the environment and surrounding wildlife. Companies that operate and maintain large oil pipelines and refineries need to have the proper safety precautions in place. Using Recycled Heavyweight Oil-Only Sorbent Rolls may help contain oil spills in a timely manner.

The absorbent device is designed with a multi-fold construction, which increases absorbency and helps officials quickly soak-up liquids. Cleanup crews employed by HEP may want to use absorbent devices like the Recycled Heavyweight Oil-Only Sorbent Roll to help protect the planet’s sensitive ecosystem.
