POTUS for WOTUS

Last February, President Trump issued an executive order directing the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army for Civil Works to review the Clean Water Rule and “publish a proposed rule for notice and comment rescinding or revising the rule.”

As with all great government edicts, a schedule of public meetings ensued for WOTUS (Waters of the United States) Rulemaking. The EPA andDepartment of the Army are hostingeleven”listening sessions” to gather stakeholder recommendationson revising the definition of “Waters of the United States.” As humorist Dave Barry might say in such a situation, “I am not making this up.”

The EPA states, “Ten teleconferences are running throughout the fall on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm_3:00 pm Eastern Time, beginning on September 19, 2017. In addition, the agencies will hold one in-person meeting with small entities on October 23, 2017 from 9:00 am_11:00 am Eastern Time.”

We don’t know what the outcome of the listening sessions will be, but Impact Absorbents has been listening, and doing our part to protect US waters, for 25 years. The XSORB Select product line is specifically designed to absorb oil and petroleum products from water, and is licensed by the State of California’s EPA State Water Control Board for use on California waterways one of just ten absorbent products worldwide to be awarded this certification.

From oil absorbent booms, socks, rolls and pads, to a healthy array of spill kits, we’re known for knowing how to keep waterways pristine, by containing and cleaning up oil spills and removing other petroleum products from the water’s surface economically, effectively, and fast.

We look forward to learning what the WOTUS Rulemaking sessions discover. In the meantime, you can count on us to help keep our harbors and marinas safe and clear of spilled toxins. That’s Impact Absorbent’s own executive directive.
