For those who may not be familiar with XSORB, it’s a non-toxic, natural blend of siliceous minerals and other inert ingredients that are combined in the manufacturing process to create a unique, all-purpose absorbent.
XSORB works by capturing and holding liquid indefinitely within numerous internal cells. XSORB will absorb all liquids and semi-liquids except for hydrofluoric acid. Sounds like a “miracle product” and on top of its effectiveness, it is non-hazardous and non-toxic to humans, plants, and animals.
Of course, this also means it’s not biodegradable, since only NON-biodegradable absorbents can be disposed of in landfills when they contain toxic and/or hazardous materials. This is vital in order to protect our precious groundwater and ecosystem.
While XSORB itself isn’t flammable, the liquid it absorbs may be, so users should always take proper precautions. At 2000 F, XSORB will reduce to 20 percent of its original volume, turning into a sand-like substance that can be easily disposed.
