In Ankeny, Iowa, the local fire department was called to maintain a large chemical spill on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, reports KCCI.com.
The city reported on its Facebook page that the spill on Southeast Delaware Avenue was nontoxic and that cleanup crews were cleaning up the leak.
Magazine Road and Delaware Avenue were closed from Kensington to Southeast 9th while the spill was cleaned up, the news source reports.
Officials projected the cleanup would take between three to five hours and would affect traffic for the remainder of the day and into the next.
