Foul smell reported in Concord, California

Recent reports have been made that there is a foul smell emanating from the area of Holly Drive in Concord, California, reports SFGate. Witnesses say there is a pungent smell coming from the site of a curde oil spill, which occurred in November 2011 at the Concord Naval Weapons Station.

The Contra Costa Hazardous Materials staff has received numerous reports of an odor in Concord. The coalition reports the smell may have been caused by cleanup efforts that began after the Holiday season.

The oil leak supposedly came from an underground ConocoPhilips pipeline that burst at MOTCO, formerly known as the Concord Naval Weapons Station.

In situations where oil has unfortunately leaked into the environment, cleanup officials need the proper absorbent devices to successful resolve public concerns.

The XSORB Oil Select Absorbent Bag can safely absorb all petroleum-based products in any marine environment, including waterways, ponds, sumps and barrels. Officials deployed to handle the oil leak in Concord may want to use the XSORB Oil Select Absorbent Bag to quickly absorb any spill which may have occurred. The device could help contain the spill and prevent it from causing further damage to the community.
