An overflow of approximately 100 gallons of heating oil at the Northwood School in Rochester, New Hampshire, forced school officials to cancel classes for the remainder of Tuesday, January 24, 2012, reports Fosters.com.
The leak was discovered by an ambulance crew returning to the fire station earlier that morning.
The leak is suggested to be caused by one of the return lines that is plugged into the heating system. The line would bring oil to the heating tank. The pipe, however, was unplugged for unknown reasons.
Local fire department officials were forced to immediately jump into action because the oil seeped into the school and onto roadways.
