Staying Safe As We Reopen

June is National Safety Month, and as the U.S. gets back to business, albeit in a very different way than before the pandemic, it’s crucial to know how to stay safe, both inside and outside the workplace.

In late April, the National Safety Council launched SAFER: Safe Actions for Employee Returns, a comprehensive, multifaceted effort to guide employers through the process of safely resuming traditional work and operations, now and in a post-pandemic environment.

The SAFER task force is comprised of large and small Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, legal experts, medical professionals, government agencies and trade associations, all with the intention of sharing their expertise to develop industry- and risk-specific resources and recommendations, such as guidebooks and checklists, to help protect employees during this uncertain and unprecedented time.

Here at Impact Absorbents, we’ve always done our best to keep workers safe under any circumstances that might entail a spill. An especially relevant family of products for now is our Biohazard Spill Response Kits.

Whether the biohazard spill in question necessitates a full-on response with face mask, gloves, coveralls and XSORB Plus Super Absorbent with Disinfectant, or simply a face mask, we have the spill clean up solutions you need to keep everyone safe, and the facility sparkling clean, with dry, non-slip floors.

Take a look at the National Safety Council’s SAFER Playbooks for general and industry-specific guidance to help your business align safety with business objectives. And as you get back to work, bear in mind what teens have said to their parents in one form or another since time immemorial: “Give me some space!” In 2020, this phrase takes on a whole new meaning that applies to us all.

Give everyone around you some space, and stay safe. Happy summer!
