Impact Absorbents has been leading the spill clean up and spill containment industry for more than three decades. With worldwide distribution, it’s amazing to realize that back in 1992, we were first experimenting with innovative absorbent materials in — where are great ideas born? — a garage. When the Tharp family began developing our flagship product, XSORB, we had one goal in mind: to create the best, most effective, environmentally friendly spill clean up product on the market.
Today, Impact Absorbents offers more than 500 spill containment and spill clean up products to meet your needs in numerous industries, from hospitals to harbors and marinas, restaurants to retail, emergency response to event centers, and much, much more.
Once we perfected XSORB Universal, since rebranded as Spill Hero Universal, we could barely keep the product in stock! Demand for the super absorbent, eco-friendly, residue-free formula quickly outstripped supply, and the family-run enterprise exited the garage for our 45,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Atascadero, California.
Impact soon developed one of the most effective Slip-and-Fall prevention programs in the industry as well, serving grocery and retail stores nationwide.
Did you know we’re also a woman-owned business? Pat Tharp stewards an environmentally responsible company that lives up to its name. Where there’s a spill, there’s an excellent chance the Spill Hero product line is on the job. For example, Spill Hero products have been used:
- to clean up a nuclear dumpsite
- for numerous oil spills in oceans, lakes and streams
- by the National Hot Rod Association, CalTrans and the Washington State Department of Transportation for oil cleanup.
